Like My Baltic's tour a few years ago, it won't be private, but I will be on it, and leading up to it, helping everyone (I book) get ready. There are a few great reasons to do it this way, one is that we can all choose to hike, the same of different paths (Inca or Lars) or, if you do not want to hike (which involves camping for 3 nights) you can opt to do hotels & train, meeting up with the hikers & campers once we arrive in Matchu Picchu. Camp & hike, or hotel & train 😉 I say we all hike, have a little fun camping lol It's ONLY 3 nights.
This means I do not control the availability, and it is first to book, goes. It also means we all get to meet new friends, even me! It’s a wonderfully small group, max 16, average 10.
To help you decide, here is a handy link from G Adventures.

While the Lares Trek terrain is somewhat easier than the Inca Trail, it reaches higher altitudes. The two Andean treks also highlight different things: what the Lares trek lacks in Incan ruins, it makes up for in a contemporary Andean cultural experience. Both feature stunning scenery.

The physical rating for this tour is 4 ~ Demanding.

Some high-altitude hikes or more strenuous activities, but accessible to most healthy travellers.

As I have just recently lightly trained for a hike up and over a mountain in Nepal, I am planning to share tips & suggestions for getting ready as well as finding a personal trainer, that if you choose, can help us all get better prepared.

Here are a few helpful hints from G.

G Adventures ~ Out of country emergency travel medical insurance is mandatory.

Travel medical insurance is mandatory. Our minimum insurance policy coverage for medical expenses, evacuation, and repatriation benefits must, when combined together, is 200,000 USD per traveller (or equivalent in other currency). If your pre-existing coverage does not meet these needs, you will be required to purchase travel medical insurance.

If you don't know your coverage, I usually suggest calling your work provider, credit cards etc. If you find out you require coverage, or top ups I can send rates & information.

Adding cancellation insurance to your medical insurance is optional, but always recommended. By having 'all-inclusive' coverage you do not need to worry about emergencies that can happen any time, any where, before or during your travels. Including the cost of your airfare, as well as your tour(s), ensures that you do not have to worry about any unforeseen situations such as having to rush home to a family member or having a tour changed or cancelled because of a natural disaster.

If you are using or relying on, your credit card for out of country emergency travel insurance here is a handy link to see what you are really covered for.

Like with all my other groups, I will be forming a facebook group; where we can share all our questions, ideas, suggests and training successes!

Please do not hesitate to reach out with any and all questions, I love questions.
